Thunderbird Car Centerpiece

Once again we were asked to create a table centerpiece that was unique and one-of-a-kind for the Pomona gals of the Class of 1955 for their annual luncheon. This year is extra special because each will be turning 80 as well.

We thought it would be fun to have a Thunderbird car with all of them in it so we constructed a replica of a thunderbird car and made cutouts of each of the ladies with their hands in the air taking a ride on route 66 on their way to Pomona College. Speed limit sign signified the age they are all turning and the year they were born.

At each place setting, we created a customized cutout of each lady in a poodle skirt keeping with our theme focusing on 1955. A customized record label was placed on a 45 record that was partially tilted forward for better visual interest.
