Centerpiece for the 2022 GRCA National Specialty, Monroe, Michigan

Designs by Ginny had the pleaseure of creating a centerpiece for the  

2022 GRCA National Specialty, Monroe, Michigan held in September.

The top 20 golden retrievers in the competition decorate a table with a new theme each year. This years theme was Motown.

We started by creating a super large styrofoam cutout of a Golden Retriever. The song for this table was Shout by the Isly Brothers.We extened the word Shout from the Golden Retriever's mouth giving the illusion that Mikey the name of the Golden Retriever was singing the song. Custom record labels were extended from the top of the metallic tissue base that was supported by a clear tube with mini lights. We created a large styrofoam guitar for the base which had mini lights around the top edge for extra effect.

To keep with the Motown theme the word Motown and the Motown symbol were added to the front of the Golden Retriever. On the backside we created a cutout with the name Mikey.

Mikey received a ribbon for being one of the top 20 qualifier making him one of the 20 top Golden Retrievers in the country.

This is a closeup picture taken before the event, as you can see the clear tube has mini lights as well as the super large custom guitar that is used as the base.

We also added some metallic gold sprays and musical notes and a musical printed  satin bow

We created custom record lables and album cover keeping with the theme.

Adding just a bit more fun we created a golden charger with a picture of Mikey and info on Tamarack Goldens.
